Happy Birthday, Mom!

Wednesday October 15, 2008 was my mother's 80th birthday! We missed our two New Jersey cousins, Michael and Erin, but don't worry - I'm sure we ate enough cake for both of you!!!

As you can see from the picture above, we had a real party, with balloons, cake, fried chicken, decorations, and just a whole lot of fun. It was a blast. The best part is that Mom had the most fun of all. There are a lot more pictures here.

Sometimes I wish I still lived in Pittsburgh, or New Jersey, or a different place, but I love my brothers and sisters so much that I'm glad I'm here in NC. I'm tired of using "in law" in regards to Amy and Ann. So, without further notice, I'm dropping it. Sisters. That's it. You two were smart enough to marry my brothers, and seem to actually be able to make them happy. That spells sister to me.

The kids reminded me of us when we were growing up - only I think we were louder if that is possible. Oh. My. God.

And there just aren't words to describe Adam and the balloons. You just have to see the pictures.

Of course, through out the evening, my thoughts wandered to those who weren't there: Dad, Donna, and Paul. It would be kind of hard for them to be there. And of course, our wonderful Michael and Erin, who are now so grown up, and all we really have are Facebook pictures and notes and emails.

The day will come when we will all be together. I hope it will be before Mom joins Dad. She loves M and E as much as her other grands - maybe even a little more because of circumstance. It's so hard for all of us.

Anyhow - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!

Here are the pictures that were taken with my camera. To see any of them full size, you can click on the the slide show, and it will take you to the web album. Then click on the picture you want to see.

  1. There is not another group of hooligans with whom I'd rather party. Let's not wait for the next birthday for the next party!
